Ecsher was a Dutch artist born in 1892 and is known for his intricate drawings and etchings of detailed illusions and images of the fourth dimension. He is probably best known for his staircases that run in every direction - you can find out more about him here.
The children were given a choice between one repeating fish, interlocking like a puzzle, or one of Ecsher's images of the fish with geese hiding in the negative spaces (or is it geese with fish hiding in the negative?) You decide!
