This was a great exercise in layering. The first layer is one of ghostly trees which we painted with the dirty water from a previous watercolour.
The subtlety of the wash makes it look like the background is shrouded in fog.
They chose the colours of their leaves - so some are early spring while others are late Autumn.
Got to love variety!
